Responding to a strong nudging to do something about the unfortunate conditions of the poor and vulnerable in our midst has been the cause to found HRDO in 2012 by 8 founder members through joined experience and few available resources. The team came to gain more knowledge about other efforts from other stakeholders and government, not only to alleviate Food insecurity and Malnutrition but also Youth empowerment, poverty reduction and Non- communicable Diseases as they are important issues for decision making in Rwanda and elsewhere in the world. Our first project was aiming at improving the lives of Maternal and under five years children nutrition in the community targeting 1000 days of life “window of opportunity” The organization got its full registration in 2017 registered by the law Nº 04/2012 of 17th /02/ 2012 relating to non-profit making organizations in Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) aiming to promote the wellbeing of vulnerable people through health support, education and promotion for social, economic, and psychological transformation.
